“The secret to success in a competition is to be maximally prepared – I would say even 130%”

Prof. Filip Draganov from Switzerland will be a member of the jury of the first International Violin Competition “Cantus Firmus”, which will be held from May 9 to 11, 2025 in Sofia. This forum is financially supported by the National Culture Fund and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria.

He is Professor of Violin at the Academy of Arts in Bern (HKB) and is a faculty member of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in the section of the Preparatory College for Music Education. Since 2010, he has been the Artistic Director of the Swiss International Music Academy YOUTH CLASSICS (SIMA) and gives master classes in Europe and Asia. He has created his own teaching method, and his students have won some of the most prestigious competitions in the world. A performer with extensive experience as a soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster and conductor, Prof. Draganov has been invited to serve as a jury member in a number of important international violin competitions. Immediately following his participation in the jury of the competition in Sofia, he will hold a two-day Master Class at the Lyubomir Pipkov National Music School.
